XRP Price Eyes Rally to $5 as BlackRock Expected to File for Solana & XRP ETFs

In a Mar. 14 post on X, Nate Geraci, president of The ETF Store, predicted that BlackRock is likely to file for both Solana (SOL) and XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs). He said Solana and XRP are among the top five non-stablecoin cryptocurrencies which makes them strong ETF candidates.

Geraci explained why BlackRock would pursue an XRP ETF in his bold prediction. He said BlackRock leads Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs with the highest inflows. He believes the company won’t let rivals launch XRP and Solana ETFs without competing.

Geraci stated:

“BlackRock will file for both Solana and XRP ETFs. Solana could be any day. Think xrp once the SEC lawsuit concluded. I simply don’t see them allowing competitors to come in & launch ETFs on 2 of the top 5 non-stablecoin crypto assets w/out any sort of fight.”

Nate Geraci said Solana and XRP ETFs are likely but may have different timelines. A Solana ETF could be filed anytime, while an XRP ETF may come after Ripple’s legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC sued Ripple in December 2020, claiming XRP sales were unregistered securities transactions. This legal battle has affected XRP’s price and adoption in the U.S. Some experts believe a change in U.S. leadership could lead to crypto-friendly regulations. If XRP is seen as a commodity, its chances of ETF approval could improve.

The SEC is closing several cases, and Ripple might be next. On March 12, journalist Eleanor Terrett said Ripple’s case is almost over. Talks were delayed as Ripple tried to lower a $125 million fine and ease XRP sales rules. Meanwhile, Geraci’s comments have boosted investor confidence in XRP’s potential. BlackRock’s involvement could attract major institutional interest.

XRP Price Eyes $5

After Geraci’s statement, analysts have become bullish on XRP. Well-known crypto analyst Rose Premium Channels predicts that the XRP price could soon reach $5. According to the analysis, key support levels are at $2.1 and $2.2, with price targets set at $3, $4.2, and ultimately $5.

At the time of writing, XRP was trading at $2.40, reflecting a 3.63% increase in the past 24 hours. However, its daily trading volume dropped 17.29% to $4.6 billion. Meanwhile, CoinGlass data revealed that XRP Futures Open Interest rose over 3.78% to $3.38 billion, indicating strong bullish sentiment.

Rising Competition for Solana and XRP ETFs

Several firms are filing for Solana and XRP ETFs, increasing competition in the market. In June, 21Shares and VanEck submitted applications for Solana ETFs, aiming to gain approval. More recently, Franklin Templeton also joined the race by applying for a Solana ETF. Interest in XRP ETFs has grown significantly. Last year, Bitwise, 21Shares, and WisdomTreea filed spot XRP ETFs. The competition escalated on January 17, 2025, when ProShares filed for multiple XRP investment products, including the ProShares XRP ETF.
