Dogecoin has been integrated into Solana through Wormhole, adding a $35 billion asset to one of the fastest ecosystems. According to the blog post, this move adds DOGE as a native cryptocurrency on Solana, so users do not need the wrapped version anymore. 

Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers (NTT) and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) are part of the process, making the transfer of DOGE from one blockchain to another run smoothly and safely. Now, Solana users are able to connect with DOGE using the Solana platform.

DOGE’s proof-of-work consensus in Solana is verified with the ZKP system created by Psy and RISC Zero. QDOGE is minted on Solana on the bridge and burned when users withdraw it to the Dogecoin chain. With this approach, cross-chain transactions are kept both safe and trustworthy. Unlike other approaches, the bridge functions independently without requiring third-party assistance.
