Unbound Fund Offers EU Citizenship With Indirect Investment Into Bitcoin

Bitcoin investment fund Unbound Fund opens doors to EU citizenship via indirect investment into Bitcoin worth 500K euros ($542K). The fund invests 100% in passive Bitcoin holdings and buys BlackRock ETFs to drive security and simplicity into the fund.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are better known for their integrity and reliability, unlike virtual assets, which are highly volatile. Cofounder and CEO of Unbound Fund Alessandro Palombo confirmed the offering via an X post.

The Palombo clarified that Unbounded provides Portugal citizenship to its customers through the Portugal Golden Residence Permit Program. This initiative refers to the state’s five-year residence-by-investment scheme for people outside Europe. Nevertheless, Unbounded Fund is the only one currently providing this type of traditional citizenship through investment and exposure to cryptocurrency.

After enrolling investments via depositing fiat currencies, users receive funds in standard units in return, which are then invested into the Unbounded Labs through BlackRock ETFs. The new investment opportunity has received the green light since its inception and has onboarded many customers. Still, the company sees new collaborations to expand its network and offerings globally. Saying Bitcoin is a tool of freedom, the founder of the company added:

I believe it’s time to use Bitcoin as a tool for freedom of movement in a mutually beneficial way with Portugal, a country I have chosen to live in with my family.

BDO Audit Unbound Funds to Ensure Transparency and Security

Green One Capital manages the funds of the Unbound Fund, which has established a three-member committee to advise the fund manager. The committee relies on an independent industry expert, a fund manager’s advisor, and a chair appointed by Green One Capital. 

The investment firm practices rigorous audits conducted by the international accounting firm Binder Dijker Otte (BDO). It allows investors access to the audits, ensuring investment transparency and security.  Moreover, the company’s funds are deposited into a crypto custody bank, and Portuguese authority involvement to ensure integrity further ensures investment safety.
