Donald Trump’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, has spent 250,000 USDC to purchase 134,216 ONDO tokens through the Cow Protocol around 11 pm UTC on Dec. 15, according to a December 16 X post from the blockchain monitoring account Lookonchain and data from Arkham Intelligence. The project bought ONDO tokens at an average price of $1.83.

The purchase follows a previous one made on December 12th. World Liberty’s multisig wallet acquired 2,631 ETH for $10 million. It also bought 41,335 LINK and 3,357 AAVE, each for $1 million. Following World Liberty’s investment, LINK hit a 3-year high of $29.45 on December 12. World Liberty Financial spent nearly $45 million on crypto in December.

ONDO Reaches $2.14 ATH Before Slight Correction, Maintains Strong Market Performance
Following the purchase, the RWA-based token hit an all-time high of $2.14, then saw a minor correction. At the time of publication, ONDO is priced at $2.04 and ranks 54th on CoinMarketCap by market cap. The asset has risen by 11.40% in the last 24 hours, contributing to a 30.72% increase over the past week. It has a market cap of $2.83 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of $586 million.
World Liberty Finance’s Portfolio Valued at $84.31 Million
According to Arkham data, World Liberty Finance’s portfolio is valued at $84.31 million. Most of the holdings are in Ether, CBBTC, USDT, and USDC stablecoins. The portfolio includes $58.11 million in ETH, $10.75 million in CBBTC, and $6.17 million in USDC. Additionally, World Liberty holds $3.58 million in USDT, $2.39 million in LINK, and $2.35 million in AAVE. It also has $622,000 worth of ENA tokens.
Nicolai Søndergaard, a Nansen research analyst, recently spoke to Bloomberg. He suggested World Liberty’s token purchases could help gain trust or boost the project. Søndergaard added that the project could benefit if these assets perform well. The project has faced challenges in meeting its WLFI token sale goals. So far, it has sold less than a quarter of the $300 million WLFI available for sale.
World Liberty Financial Gains Momentum with Justin Sun’s $30M Investment
Trump and his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, launched the crypto venture in September. They revealed it through a live stream on X. The DeFi platform’s native token, WLFI, is currently in presale. The presale started on October 15th and attracted over 100,000 U.S. accredited investors
World Liberty Financial struggled to meet its goals until Justin Sun, a Chinese entrepreneur and crypto pioneer, intervened. Sun, known for buying a banana at 35 cents for $6.2 million, invested $30 million in WLFI. He announced the investment on X and stated that “the U.S. is becoming the blockchain hub.” Sun also mentioned that Bitcoin owes its success to Donald Trump. He added that TRON is committed to making America great again. According to Sun, his investment made him the largest investor in World Liberty Financial.
The World Liberty Finance website shows that the presale is still ongoing. The Trump family has sold 4.97 billion WLFI tokens at $0.015 each. Trump plans to sell a total of 20 billion tokens. Currently, 15 billion tokens are still available for purchase.
