Crypto.com and Travel Wallet to Expand Crypto Services Across South Korea

Crypto exchange Crypto.com and Travel Wallet have entered into a strategic MoU to expand crypto usage in South Korea. The agreement was announced on October 21, with new payment tools being introduced, combining both traditional finance and blockchain functionalities.
Travel Wallet is a leading South Korean financial technology company with over 8 million users across its app and card clients. The company now operates in more than 40 fiat currencies and has conducted over KRW 6 trillion in transactions. Meanwhile, Crypto.com keeps expanding its presence in Asia with specific collaborations. This partnership comes after Crypto.com has made prior ventures in the travel and payments industries.

New Card and App Features Aim to Transform Payments
Under the new collaboration, the issuing partner of Crypto.com in South Korea will be Travel Wallet. The two companies will release a co-branded prepaid card that will accept both fiat and crypto payments globally. In addition, the crypto-as-a-service solutions from Crypto.com will also be integrated into the Travel Wallet app. This will enable the users to purchase and sell virtual assets within the already existing mobile platform.
The companies will jointly promote a new stablecoin, which is pegged to the Korean won. This is to help in facilitating cheaper, faster, and easier global payments. The companies will also initiate a referral and reward program to facilitate user growth in both ecosystems.
Boosting Crypto Access Through Strategic Travel Sector Ties
Crypto.com and Travel Wallet are optimistic that this partnership will bridge fintech and blockchain-based finance. The new ecosystem will enable seamless access to foreign currencies, stablecoins, and crypto for the users.

Kim Hyung-woo, the CEO of Travel Wallet, termed the collaboration as “the rise of a new payment paradigm in which fintech finance met blockchain finance.” Travel Wallet is a licensed Visa Principal and connects with more than 100 million payment points globally. Its global infrastructure aligns with that of Crypto.com’s crypto payments ecosystem.
Expansion Follows Crypto.com’s Recent Growth Moves
This latest MoU is in addition to other key Crypto.com’s recent developments in 2025. In July, Emirates signed an MoU with Crypto.com to incorporate crypto payments into its reservation tools. Soon, Emirates will enable its clientele to use cryptocurrencies to pay through Crypto.com Pay. The goal of this integration is to suit younger, technology-oriented travelers.
Furthermore, Crypto.com collaborated with Morpho on the Cronos chain earlier this month. The platform allows users to borrow stablecoins against wrapped BTC and ETH. These moves reinforce the goal of the crypto exchange to expand everyday crypto usage. By leveraging partnerships such as this one initiated with Travel Wallet, Crypto.com enhances access to both payment and financial capabilities.
