Bitwise Predicts Bitcoin to Hit $200K, ETH $7K, and SOL $750 in 2025

Bitwise Asset Management, a leading crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer, released a report titled “10 Crypto Predictions for 2025” on December 10. The firm predicted that Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) would hit $200,000, $7,000, and $750, respectively, next year. These targets represent new all-time highs for each of these leading cryptocurrencies.

The paper’s authors, Ryan Rasmussen, Head Of Research, and Matt Hougan, the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), suggested that Bitcoin ETFs could be a key factor in driving Bitcoin’s price to $200,000. They also predicted that Bitcoin could face a supply shock as more corporations and governments adopt it. Moreoever, they speculate that Bitcoin could reach $500,000. This could happen if the U.S. adopts a strategic Bitcoin reserve. Senator Cynthia Lummis has suggested that the government buy one million BTC over five years.

ETH underperformed this year and lost favour with many crypto investors. Hougan and Rasmussen predict a shift next year. They expect increased layer 2 activity, like on Base and Starknet. Additionally, they anticipate Spot ETH ETFs will bring billions in inflows, driving Ethereum’s price up to $7,000. Massive growth in stablecoins and tokenized projects will fuel this rally. Rasmussen and Hougan believe Solana’s momentum is just getting started, with the potential for it to reach $750.

They pointed out SOL’s strong performance this year, driven by its meme coin ecosystem. They believe the price will rise as more serious projects join the Solana network, complementing its dominance in meme coins.

Other Major Predictions for Next Year

Bitwise predicts that Bitcoin ETFs will attract greater inflows than this year. Hougan and Rasmussen also predict Coinbase will overtake Charles Schwab as the most valuable brokerage, with its stock reaching $700. 

Another prediction is that 2025 will be the “Year of Crypto IPOs,” with five crypto unicorns expected to go public in the U.S. The five likely candidates for IPOs are Circle, Figure, Kraken, Anchorage Digital, and Chainalysis. They attributed this prediction to several factors. These include growing investor demand, more institutional adoption, a favourable macroeconomic environment, and better regulation.

The crypto firm forecasts that AI tokens will spark an even bigger meme coin craze next year. Rasmussen and Hougan also predict the number of countries holding BTC will increase significantly. According to BitcoinTreasuries.net, nine countries currently hold Bitcoin, with the United States leading. 

Bitwise anticipates that the U.S. Department of Labor will ease its position on crypto in 401(k) plans, allowing billions to be invested in crypto assets. They also expect the stablecoin market to double, surpassing $400 billion with new U.S. legislation. As Wall Street increasingly adopts crypto, they foresee the tokenized RWA market reaching $50 billion. Finally, Bitwise confidently predicts that by 2029, Bitcoin will exceed the $18 trillion gold market and trade for over $1 million per Bitcoin.
