Bitget and UNICEF Partner to Boost Blockchain Education in Eight Countries

Highlights:

  • Bitget Academy will design blockchain lessons using video game creation for teachers and students in multiple regions.
  • The partnership targets the gender digital skills gap and supports access to education for girls in underserved areas.
  • Bitget and UNICEF aim to extend this program to new countries as the initiative grows.

Bitget, a crypto exchange platform launched in 2018, has signed a three-year agreement with UNICEF Luxembourg. The objective of the alliance is to promote digital education via the Game Changers Coalition. The target group includes adolescent girls, parents, teachers, and mentors across eight countries. These countries are Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa.

The collaboration enables UNICEF, an agency of the United Nations, to create a digital skills gap resolution for young women in low-income and middle-income countries. Bitget will offer support via its Blockchain4Her program that encourages financial literacy and digital training among women.

The alliance also makes Bitget collaborate with the other members of a coalition, such as Women in Games, Micron Foundation, and the Global Video Game Coalition. The two will also collaborate to provide access to technology-based training to more than one million girls by 2027.

Bitget and UNICEF to Scale Blockchain Literacy

The exchange education department, Bitget Academy, will also assist in developing the first blockchain training module of UNICEF. The module will be taught both online and in person and will involve video game building to learn the concepts of blockchain. This form will assist in making technical information simple among teachers and youth. Bitget also intends to increase the scope of the program by covering additional countries across the initial eight.

According to UNICEF data, young women in less developed regions miss out on $15 billion each year due to limited internet access and digital skills. Since 90% of jobs today require digital knowledge, this training is vital. The input of Bitget will be critical towards shaping this curriculum and making it more practical and inclusive.

Digital skills, according to Sandra Visscher, the executive director of UNICEF Luxembourg, have the potential to open opportunities to young people. She stated that the purpose is to provide adolescents with confidence, knowledge, and tools to develop their future. Visscher further noted that the collaboration will aid in innovation in more societies and advocacy of equal access to education.

Blockchain Education Through Gamified Learning and Web3 Mentorship

Bitget will involve blockchain developers and Web3 experts in the training process. These stakeholders will also act as mentors and provide advice regarding the course content development. They will make sure that the learning materials are not outdated and in touch with what is going on in the world of blockchain. The partnership will assist in exposing students to the existing instruments and approaches in the technology sector. The project follows a similar teaching model adopted by Giggle Academy, an initiative by the former Binance CEO.

Bitget comes with the experience of its Blockchain4Youth project. This project has invested $10 million to help fund scholarships, workshops, and training sessions for young learners. The project has already collaborated with Avalanche to bring more blockchain education to India.
