Renowned American entrepreneur and financial analyst Tom Lee recently appeared on Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) to share some bold predictions about Bitcoin (BTC) and the entire crypto space. In a video clip circulating, the businessman noted that he envisages Bitcoin’s meteoric surge to $250K in 2025.

He added that he expects the wave that would orchestrate BTC to positively impact other cryptocurrencies, with Ethereum (ETH) at the forefront of the altcoins rally. According to the financial expert, ETH would likely reach $5,000 or $6,000 in 2025. He stated: “Ethereum could get to $5,000 or $6,000 next year. And I think this is also probably the year for what we call alt season where Solana (SOL) and other altcoins do extremely well.”

Advising traders Tom Lee suggested increasing their cryptocurrency holdings, particularly Bitcoin. According to the financial analyst, 2025 would be a breath of fresh air that would revolutionize the crypto regulatory landscape courtesy of Trump’s victory.
It is no longer news that Trump has voiced his disdain for the unfavorable stance on crypto-related projects. Hence, part of his campaigns revolved around making the United States a leading crypto hub. With Trump’s victory at the poll, market participants are basking in the euphoria of a looming crypto boom era with the Republican as the American president.
Bitcoin Struggles Persist with Few Days Remaining to Conclude 2024
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is changing hands at approximately $98,000, reflecting a 4.1% upswing in the past 24 hours. After establishing $108,135 as its peak price on December 17, BTC gave enthusiasts hope that it would probably crush $110K this year and hit the coveted $120,000 mark.
Unfortunately, none of the above happened, with BTC plummeting significantly below its all-time high (ATH). The flagship crypto decline appeared evident in its specific period price change variables. For context, BTC’s 7-day-to-date, 14-day-to-date, and month-to-date statistics reflected decrements of about 6.7%, 0.3%, and 0.2%, respectively.
With its recent woes, Bitcoin’s market capitalization has dropped to about $1.94 trillion. Similarly, BTC’s 24-hour trading volume has dropped by about 14.89% and boasts a $46.44 billion valuation. Noteworthy, Bitcoin ETFs have joined the price struggles, with concerning net outflows in their recent outings.
According to one of our most recent news articles, BTC ETFs are experiencing their worst run since Trump’s victory at the poll. Considering the most recent outing that resulted in net outflows, the Bitcoin commodities have recorded four consecutive losses, forfeiting over $1.5 billion.
Tom Lee’s Predictions Appear Exaggerated
Relative to several other predictions, one could assert that Tom Lee did not adopt a conservative approach in his projections. Before the financial analyst’s price prediction emerged, investment firms, including Bitwise and VanEck, had shared price expectations for 2025.
In its price prediction, VanEck expects Bitcoin to hit $180,000, Ethereum to jump over $6,000, and Solana to exceed $500 in 2025. Like Tom Lee, VanEck noted that a favorable regulatory landscape would orchestrate the rally next year.

After conducting its research, Bitwise predicted that Bitcoin would reach $200,000, Ethereum’s valuation would skyrocket to $7,000, and Solana would jump to about $750 in 2025.
