Scheduled System Upgrade on September 25

According to an official announcement from Binance, the system upgrade will affect a wide range of services. Users may experience brief interruptions in account login, registration, trading across Spot, Margin, Futures, Peer-to-Peer (P2P), and VIP account services, as well as other account-related features. However, trading conducted through API will not be affected during this period.

Binance has reassured users that their data and assets will remain secure throughout the maintenance. The company emphasized that the interruptions would last only a few minutes for each individual user. Services will resume shortly after the upgrade is complete, and there will be no further announcements regarding the resumption.

Anticipation Surrounding Changpeng Zhao’s Release

The scheduled upgrade coincides with the anticipated release of Binance’s founder and former CEO, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ. According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons website, CZ is scheduled for release on September 29, 2024. He was sentenced to four months in federal prison in April 2024 for failing to implement sufficient security measures to prevent money laundering activities on the platform.

Upon his release, CZ is expected to return to Dubai to reunite with his family. He plans to continue working on his recently launched educational initiative, Giggle Academy. As part of his agreement with U.S. prosecutors, CZ has been barred from returning to a leadership role at Binance. However, he retains the ability to vote on proposals and participate in company matters as a shareholder.
