Binance Charity Airdrops $1M BNB to Typhoon Yagi-Affected Users in Vietnam

In a move to support its users in Vietnam, Binance Charity is set to airdrop up to $1 million in BNB to those affected by the devastating Typhoon Yagi. This initiative targets Binance users living in the 25 cities hardest hit by the typhoon, which landed on Vietnam’s northeastern coast on September 7, 2024.

To support those impacted by Typhoon Yagi in Northern Vietnam, #Binance will airdrop up to $1 million in #BNB to users in the region.

Typhoon Yagi has been the most destructive storm to hit Asia this year, claiming 226 lives and leaving over 100 people missing. The storm caused widespread devastation, including the collapse of the Phong Chau bridge, exacerbating the disaster’s impact.

Binance’s Response to the Crisis

In response, Binance announced on September 13, 2024, that it would airdrop BNB to registered users in the affected regions. Users who had completed their proof-of-address (POA) before September 10, 2024, will receive $50 worth of BNB directly to their Binance accounts. Those who register their POA between September 10 and September 30, 2024, will receive $20 worth of BNB.

Binance CEO Richard Teng expressed his condolences to the victims, stating,

“We hope that our efforts can bring some relief to those affected. We stand in solidarity with the community members and hope they can recover from this disaster soon.”

Aiding Recovery Efforts

This philanthropic initiative continues Binance Charity’s history of supporting Vietnam through various projects, including saltwater filtration systems and medical supply donations. The first batch of BNB airdrops will begin reaching beneficiaries’ accounts on September 16, 2024.

Binance is set to list the Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) token, adding it to its Launchpool platform starting September 19, 2024. Users can farm HMSTR tokens by locking Binance Coin and First Digital USD (FDUSD) until September 25, 2024. Following the farming period, HMSTR will be available for trading against USDT, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY starting September 26, 2024.
